Failure’s just growth in wolf’s clothing
Is a quote from the homeless man in “The 5am Club” by Robin Sharma.
If I highlighted my books like some folks out there that is a line I would highlight.
It just spoke to me.
Failure feels bad, feels evil, feels horrible at times really. But every single time you fail, you will grow. You will learn.
I think that’s just a fact even if it’s hard to accept in the moment.
“This is absolutely awesome, I’m learning so much right now” is not what you will be thinking after not reaching a long term goal or not getting hired for a job but in time I’m positive you can reflect on the situation like that.
It’s a very motivating thought, that even if you ‘fail’ at something, you will always grow and if you aren’t aiming to constantly grow in life… I guess what’s really the point.
In a twisted way you could almost make the case FOR failing. Failing will teach you lessons that succeeding won’t.
Obviously you want to succeed but maybe we shouldn’t be afraid to fail as much as we all naturally are.
Failure is looked at as a bad thing, just like if you see a Wolf in the middle of the forest at night time somewhere. That’s where I make sense of this comparison too.
But stop judging failure and that Wolf so quickly. Yes it’s scary and yes you’re uncertain in the moment, but you will walk away having learned more about yourself and more about the Wolf afterwards.
Unless he eats you of course.
But that’s no longer following the wisdom of this analogy.
